Rainforests on Prezi

This week I was introduced to a new teaching tool called Prezi. It is a great interactive tool that is much like a power-point presentation but more visually engaging and more creative. It allows for plenty of customization and inclusion of outside resources such as images, videos and links. At first it was hard to navigate but once I got the hang of it I was able to create what I thought a really nice presentation about "Rainforests". If the time is spent teaching higher end students how to use this presentation creator then it would be a great tool to utilize in the classroom. This could be used for students assignments/presentations and it would also cut back on paper wastage which comes from our rainforests :)
Power-Point Presentations;
I have grown up with using power-point and still hold it in high regard as one of the best programs for helping to present assignments. Its simple, easy to use, allows for some creativity. However it does seem a bit overused and out dated these days and perhaps the likes of a Prezi and other such creators is what the students of today will be brought up with.
